What’s Changing for Dublin South-West Bus Users
From Sunday 19 October 2025, the National Transport Authority (NTA) will introduce the F-Spine. The stated aim is for a new set of high-frequency, 24-hour bus routes forming part of the BusConnects Dublin Network Redesign. These changes encompass Tallaght, Firhouse, Templeogue, Perrystown, Greenhills, Walkinstown and surrounding areas, replacing older routes like the 9, 40, 49, 54A, 83/83A.
The launch also includes a new Route 82, linking Tallaght directly with the city centre and beyond.
F1 — Ballymun ↔ Tallaght (The Square)
Runs IKEA Ballymun → Finglas → City Centre → Templeogue → Firhouse → Tallaght Square
Replaces Route 49
24-hour service, every 10–15 minutes by day
Key stops: Tallaght Square, Firhouse Rd, Templeogue Village, Harold’s Cross, Rathmines and O’Connell St
F2 — Charlestown SC ↔ Rossmore (Templeogue)
Replaces part of Route 150
Travels Charlestown → Finglas → City Centre → Kimmage → Templeogue → Rossmore Rd
24-hour service, every ≈15 minutes by day
Serves Templeogue Rd, Orwell Rd and Rossmore Estate with faster city links
F3 — Charlestown SC ↔ Greenhills College
Covers Charlestown → Finglas → City Centre → Harold’s Cross → Kimmage → Walkinstown → Greenhills College
Every 15 minutes by day, extended late-night hours
Replaces parts of Routes 9 and 54A, improving service for Walkinstown & Greenhills
82 — Kiltipper ↔ Poolbeg (via City Centre)
New radial route linking Tallaght (Kiltipper Way) to St Stephen’s Green and Poolbeg
Serves Blessington Rd, Crumlin, Dolphin’s Barn and City Centre, continuing to Ringsend/Poolbeg
Approx. every 20 minutes on weekdays
Provides a direct Tallaght–City link, replacing parts of the 54A
